Weekend adventures

We lucked out this last weekend and Tyler was home with us on Friday night! So our weekend started Thursday night. Tyler took the big kids out for frosties and fries while I hung out at home with Harvey.

A funny text from Tyler while out with the big kids. Max is so funny sometimes.

Tyler needed his license renewed so we drove out to the DPS in a small town. I'd been there to renew my license a few years ago and it was super fast and not crowded, but apparently everyone else got off work on Friday morning and was there too! We were there an hour, which was still better than going to the place close to us.

Harvey had slept 12 hours the night before so we were all super happy about that!

Having a little snack outside the van while waiting for Dad.

After lunch we went to see Beauty and the Beast. The kids and I had already seen it but we had to go again to show Tyler! It's the best!

Millie wore this new dress from Gigi all weekend. It's so cute and I want it in my size!

Super flexible.

Saturday morning I wanted to get outside. We didn't have a ton of time but Tyler was so sweet to pump up all the bike tires so we could go for a little ride. It was Harvey's first time in the bike trailer!

Max was so sweet to Harvey while we were riding and he feel asleep by the time we got back!

Next was Cy-Palooza! More coming in another post because there's lots more on that.

After that we went to Harris County Smokehouse with Gigi, Poppy, Both, Heidi, James and Wes to celebrate Tyler's and Wes's birthdays!

We also went to see Born in China (2 movies in one weekend! We were on a roll) which was so adorable. I loved it. We went to Gigi and Poppy's to hang out for a little while before heading home for baths and bedtime. Gigi got the kids some new summer clothes and these boys looked adorable in their matching jammies.

Of course then Millie requested a picture with Harvey, and how can I say no to that??

Max is learning to write some letters. E is my favorite.

Falling asleep mid-meal. We did make it through but he was so tired!

Weekends are just the best.

Outside fun

We've really lucked out with the weather in Houston lately. We didn't have much of a winter at all and it just stayed super nice, which made me worry we'd be hit with killer heat super early, but it has still been really nice! We are trying to take advantage of it just in case we lose it soon.

The kids and I are taking lots of bike rides lately. This one was to the park for a picnic, because we're working on eating closed-face sandwiches before kindergarten.

Harvey gets a little upset when I won't let him have a popsicle.

A fun afternoon at the splash pad.

Target got the kids ready for summer with sunglass in the dollar spot!

We took a walk to the park with Wes and Gigi. Millie is such a little mama and loved pushing Wes in the stroller.

We fed the ducks before walking back to Gigi's and this big guy followed us all the way there! Creepy!

The rest of April

I hope he never lets go of his feet! This stage is adorable.

Documenting the never-ending lunch. Can't remember what it was now that was holding her up, probably carrots. I do remember that she sat there for 2.5 hours though! Girlfriend is stubborn!

But she is also super helpful. We were at the store and taking longer than anticipated (of course) and Harvey was getting restless and wanted to be held. I couldn't push the cart and grab stuff and hold him, so Millie volunteered to hold him. She hopped in his seat and held him the rest of the time! It was so sweet. I'm going to miss this helpful girl when she goes to kindergarten.

I just adore this boy. Not sure if he could see me or if he was looking at his reflection but I'll take it either way.

Harvey loves his vegetables! Squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, and peas are his favorites. He gobbles them up.

We had a fun lunch to celebrate Sharon's birthday! These fun ladies were so sweet about me taking along the kids and the kids mostly behaved. Max ate his own mini pizza which was so cute.

We can't go to that area without playing around at the boardwalk! And it was a super beautiful day. I loved letting the kids run around and snuggling with Harvey.

This book is really good so far. Unfortunately I am not great at audiobooks and my 2 weeks with this were up before I finished it. I'm currently on the waiting list to get it from the library again so I can finish it.

Harvey is quite the mover these days. I love finding him in random places like under the ottoman! He rolls like crazy and does this inchworm/army crawl thing.

We went to our friend's apartment complex pool and I loved this little view.

Tyler volunteered at the MS150 and had a fun morning there with a couple of friends.

We went out to dinner as a family. Gift cards are the best but just don't stretch as far now that the kids actually want to eat!

I am Harvey's human chew toy. Don't mind it at all!

Catching up

April was kind of a weird month. We had lots of fun stuff going on but also lots of sickness. It felt like at least one of us wasn't feeling 100% for a lot of the month, so we had lots of quiet days at home.

Max loves to show Harvey his favorite stuff. I can't wait to see them grow up and become best buds.

Just posing super cute.

Millie loves to climb and jump and crawl all over every surface of the house (thank you gymnastics). She talks about wishing she was a gecko so she could have sticky feet and walk on the ceiling! So funny.

I got some bath crayons and loved to see how different Millie's and Max's drawings were.

Millie woke up and declared the day a sick day and set up camp on the couch. She didn't seem to bee very sick but a few days later we learned it was hand foot and mouth! Yikes!

Harvey is now sleeping in his crib! It needed to happen (he wasn't sleeping well in the pack 'n' play anymore) but those first few nights I really missed him.

And he's also in that super grabby phase. He particularly loves to suck on my Yeti when I'm drinking and I love it.

Watching Moana the other day, we got to this part and Millie said "It's like Tafiti has Cheeto fingers but they're green!" I laughed so hard.

Max was just killin' me with cuteness. And desperately needed a haircut.

A little dancing time in the dancing room.

We rode bikes/ran around the lake at Goforth Park and the kids loved stopping at all the little exercise stations.

The biking and exercising tuckered this cute boy out. Also, why do boys always get the best eyelashes??

We were going through all of our toys and getting rid of a bunch of stuff. Millie was a little unhappy with how liberally I was throwing things in the donate pile and declared them all her favorite things again, even though she hadn't played with any of it in a long time.
