Labor Day

The Webbs came to Houston for a quick Labor Day trip, so we had everyone come out to our pool for one last hurrah before the pool closed. We ate pizza and lounged and swam for several hours and it was awesome. Oh, and Tyler went back and forth to the house a few times for an A/C repairman. Real life. Not sure I’ve written about that on here, but in August our system went out and we had to replace the whole thing. On our 10th anniversary haha. So it was just a bit frustrating to have it go out again less than a month after buying a whole new system! But we eventually got the issue resolved. Oh, and let’s not forget the random neighborhood kid who was playing and talking with us for a while. He wandered over for a couple of slices of pizza too. Gotta love it.

Eva took this picture of Hazel and it makes me so happy!

Finishing up August

We had Stake Conference at the end of the month and were assigned to watch it at a building out in Katy. It was right by where Tyler and I took some engagement photos 10 years ago, so I made everyone stop for a quick picture. Okay, it was more than one picture.

Millie took the pic below. Not bad Millie!

And just for fun, a sampling of the other times we’ve taken pictures here.

The boys both ended up in bed with us one night and I woke to find them all sleeping in the exact same position! So funny.

Making baby sister smile.

They couldn’t find their flip flops, so boots were the next best thing to wear to the pool I guess.

I just never want to forget the feeling of a little baby burrito in my arms, and they way she looked at me and smiled behind her binky. The best.

Potty training Harvey

Harvey was very sad when the big kids started school. He really wanted to go and he really missed having playmates at home! So we distracted ourselves with potty training. I’ll be honest, I was really not looking forward to doing this again. I didn’t intentionally do anything different, so I’m not sure why, but it was SO much easier this time. The first morning was really rough, lots of crying and saying “I just can’t do it!” But after a nap something just clicked and he never went back. He got it so quickly! Below is his thumbs up for being a big boy.

He was not interested in the little training potty we used with Millie and Max, so we just went straight to the toilet and he has done great! So thankful it was a better experience this time around, for his sake and mine! Hooray for Harvey!

School prep and first day

The kids were excited for school to start! We were re-zoned to a different school so it was new for everyone this year. The kids loved meeting their teachers a few days before school started. I totally was tearing up over Max going to kindergarten at meet the teacher!

We went to the neighborhood pool and stumbled upon a back to school neighborhood party!

Poppy came over the night before the first day for dinner and a tea party.

Backpacks lined up and ready to go! Including Harvey’s backpack and lunch kit, of course.

All ready to go!

2nd grader!

Kindergartener!

Toddler! Who totally got up there without prompting and struck a pose on his own too!

Harvey totally cried as they pulled away. He wanted to go too! It was so funny and heartbreaking. We were sure excited to head back out to the bus stop to get the kids at the end of the day.

Thumbs up for a great first day! And our tradition of cookies afterwards!

More Miss Hazel

So many sweet moments and cute things with this little miss that I want to remember! This cute dress from a friend in our ward was one of my favorite things.

Getting stronger at tummy time!

Why so serious?? I love all her faces!

3 months here!

Officially in the smiling at myself in the mirror stage. I love it!

Also in the hair-grabbing stage, which you can’t see in this pic, but she had a good handful in the back of my head! Also, I’m pretty sure this mother’s room used to be a closet. When you open the door it’s about 3 inches away from this mirror. Pretty funny.

When you’re just too tall for an outfit but your mom tries to squeeze you in it anyway so she can take a picture.

10 on 10: August 2019

1. Sweet sisters.

2-8. A fun day at Typhoon Texas! Grandpa’s company picnic was there and they invited us. We had yummy food and had a great time going on water slides and floating in the lazy river.

We were trying to get a picture with everyone but some had to leave before others got back from their last rides. It was a fun day with Grandma, Grandpa, Tim, Lauren, and Sarah.

9. We took his wet suit off before getting him in the car, knowing he’d crash on the way home! He didn’t even make it out of the parking lot before falling asleep.

10. Millie did an act of service for Max and made his bed, including arranging his many stuffed animals nicely. She also left a note that said, “I did this. Love, Millie” that made me laugh so hard!
