We're actually starting the night before with our traditional Halloween sugar cookies! The kids loved playing with their own chunks of dough.

At Millie's school they have "Dress Like a Book Character Day" and while Millie's Halloween costume (Cinderella) would have worked, Millie said she couldn't run fast in the dress and wanted to be something else. (Running has become very important to Millie since going to school. It seems that's all she does at recess!!) So she went as Little Red Riding Hood, since that costume is "basically just a cape" and it would help her run faster. Solid logic.
Then it was time for preschool! Max's cute friends all came over dressed up and we had a fun time doing Halloween activities and the letter H. Pretty amazing that H fell on the week of Halloween!
By the time Millie got home from school it was pouring rain! Bummer! I set up a little spot in our room to take some pictures of the kids in their costumes.
Millie as "the real Cinderella."
Max as Buzz Lightyear. "To infinity and beyond!"
And Harvey as a reluctant Woody.
"You've got a friend in me."
One of many outtakes. Harvey is difficult to photograph these days, unless he's in my arms.
We decided not to attempt trick-or-treating in our neighborhood and go right to Gigi and Poppy's house. Heidi, James, and Wes were there too. And apparently my kids were getting sick of pictures haha.
The kids really wanted to try to go to a few houses, so we put on our rain boots and grabbed umbrellas and went for it!
There weren't many people out. It was really raining hard!
We told the kids we'd do a few houses and then go back to Gigi and Poppy's house. Then the adults went in different rooms in the house and the kids went trick-or-treating inside. Had to get rid of our candy somehow!
Max kept giving candy to Wes. It was so sweet.
Poor Tyler was stuck on a bus trying to get home for several hours and missed the whole evening! Max was so happy to show off his candy when we met him at home. He kept sorting it into piles, finding matches, etc. It was cute how organized he was about it all.
It was definitely a Halloween to remember!
