Tyler’s triathlon

Tyler did an indoor sprint triathlon! It was at an athletic club nearby that we do not belong to, but they were nice and let us come watch anyway.

They did a staggered start on the swim to accommodate everyone. It was fun to cheer him on!

After doing a lap in each of the 5 lanes he ran to the beginning and did it all again. Amazing!

About to rock the 12 mile bike ride!

This was where it got a little hairy for the kids. They weren’t allowed to touch much of anything, go anywhere really, or do much. We did take a couple trips to the bathroom to occupy ourselves and allow Tyler to ride in peace haha.

He was a rockstar!

And then it was out to the treadmill.

He rocked the run too! During the swim Millie and Max had been saying they thought they could do what Tyler was doing easy peasy, but by the end I think they were truly impressed with their awesome dad.

I know I for sure was impressed! He is amazing.

Cy-Palooza

Millie worked hard this year in gymnastics. She had Cy-Palooza at the beginning of May and it was fun to watch her show off her skills.

Poppy was so sweet to come watch her too. I also have to note here that we (I) could not have survived the last several months without Gigi's help. She offered to help on Tuesday nights when Millie had gymnastics, by either taking Millie to gymnastics or staying home with the boys while I took her. It was so nice to not have to take the boys there every time and I know the kids enjoyed that extra time with Gigi! Thank you a million Gigi!!

We love this little gymnast!

End of soccer

Soccer is officially over! We kind of limped our way through the end of the season haha. Millie was so excited she finally got to be the goalie in the last game.

Such a fun and cute team of Tigers!

One last walk through the "forest"

Cheering on Max at his last game.

Unfortunately we didn't make it to Max's end-of-season party but we did get to Millie's. The kids enjoyed swimming at the coach's complex pool and they were all super excited about their trophies. Another season in the books!

Weekend adventures

Tyler was working from home one Friday so we had lunch as a family at the school.

Millie needed more math practice after school apparently. She's such a self-starter.

Nana, Botz, and Gigi all came to the big kids' soccer games that Saturday morning. So sweet of them to come and support the kids.

Ward Easter egg hunt!

Sign of a good morning: powdered sugar on your face and candy in your basket.

Even Harvey found one!

I was kind of surprised Max initiated this interaction and picture with the Easter bunny! He was getting into the spirit of things I guess!

We spent the afternoon at Gigi and Poppy's swimming and playing outside. None of us brought swim suits but we let them splash around in the water anyway.

Can you tell in the picture above where Harvey is headed? He knew when I let go of his hand to take a picture that he only had a second and he beelined straight for the edge of the stair. The picture below was taken on accident (actually, it's one of about 16 burst photos haha) as I grabbed Harvey out of the water. He's going to give me a run for my money this summer!

Tyler and I snuck away to play tennis for a bit and it was so great.

A Sunday walk. Love the way Millie looks at her dad.

More soccer

This is Millie's cute team. This is their 3rd year playing together! Go Tigers!

And this is Max's cute team. We didn't know most of the kids and families well but it has been fun to get to know them. Go Dragons!

Patient brothers at soccer practice

The kids have really enjoyed the "forest" this year. There is a trail that goes around the soccer fields and there's a section that goes through a wooded area. It's really pretty and they love going there between games or before/after.

Had to take a picture of this cute boy when the soccer uniforms finally came in. The kids played without them for a few weeks.

My forest-loving girl.

Weekend adventures

This particular weekend started off with a bang when my mom came over and helped me paint Harvey's room! Goodbye, pink argyle. We liked the pink room when we looked at/first bought the house, but as I tried to decorate it a little I found it an impossible shade of pink. So I've wanted to paint it for a long time. The final straw was when we had to switch up the kids' rooms and Harvey ended up in here. Time for something gender neutral so we can play musical bedrooms anytime! I went with the color that's in the rest of the house. It's a light gray but for some reason looks like a weird sage green in these pics. It did in real life as we were painting too. Yikes. But it dried really nice.

Didn't get a proper before pic, but you can still see the argyle here.

Max was eager to help and pretty darn cute about it.

The finished product! Only took a few hours of actual painting and we had fun doing it. Win win. Max's room is next, someday. Took me 5.5 years to get around to this one so don't hold your breath haha.

Gigi and Poppy gave us the game "Stack Up" and we had fun playing it for our FHE activity.

Saturday morning we had the kids' first soccer games! Max's was first, at 8am. That was early.

Favorite moment of the game. He wasn't laser focused on that ball I guess.

Max was such a trooper playing in the rain! He had fun and scored a goal when a coach threw the ball back in a little too far, which rolled right to Max (standing in front of the goal) and he kicked it right in. It was hilarious. He was so excited about the after-game treats.

Gigi, Poppy, Mitchell, and Shayna were so sweet to give up their Saturday morning and come watch the kids play. Max's game was at 8 and Millie's wasn't until 10, so in between we played and visited and walked around.

Then it was time for Millie's game! It rained off and on during hers too. Those Tigers are tough. This year they're at a different level and are actually playing with goalies, which presents a new challenge. It's awesome.

Max had so much fun playing with Poppy.

Poor Harvey finally tuckered out about 10 minutes before Millie's game ended.

Such a happy Tiger!

Random but awesome picture of the sky on Sunday. We sure do have a beautiful world. Can you spy the airplane in this pic? I didn't see it when taking it but it's pretty funny!
