Little things

We played that ridiculous game where you try to talk with these contraptions in your mouth. I don't even remember what it's called. We laughed so hard but it was also super frustrating to not be able to speak!

Dad treated the kids to a cookie when we were randomly at the mall one Saturday.

Pretty cute post-swim caravan!

We're still enjoying our sunsets.

On Flag Day we read a book we'd borrowed from the library that totally inspired Millie. The book was called "Long May She Wave" in case anyone is interested, I'd totally recommend it. It used lyrics from the Star Spangled Banner and talked about a family of flag makers and their experience making a flag for Fort McHenry. Anyway, Millie ran and grabbed a white shirt and asked for the fabric markers and whipped her own flag shirt. She's excited to also wear it for the 4th of July.

She is proud of her shirt and I am proud of her!

She doesn't ride her scooter a ton these days, but when she does she always says how she's too big for it now. Don't grow up, Millie!

We joined a gym! A new Lifetime Athletic was built just a couple minutes down the road from us and Tyler knows someone who works there who got us a good deal so we jumped on it. I haven't done a gym of any kind since being in Utah - it's so great! Here I am, fresh out of the pool after swimming laps on my first time there. Not looking glamorous but super excited.

The kids get to come with me and were very excited about the t-shirts they were given. They like to wear them to bed and match each other.

It's nice to be able to swim even when it's thundering outside!

And I am loving the classes. Gives me a nice variety and I'm able to meet friends there and do classes with them.

We had a cute crew at our house on Friday, in and out of the dinosaur slide and house and enjoying otter pops.

They also had pretend Primary and sang for a good hour! That's when you know your mom is the chorister haha.

7 on 10: June 2018

1. Sharon and I did not coordinate this but found it pretty funny at church! Great minds think alike I guess.

2. Tyler is awesome and has the kids writing to one of the missionaries serving from our ward every week. They draw a picture and write what they learned about in Primary. It's been a nice Sunday tradition.

3. I always change Harvey out of his Sunday clothes (for the sake of preserving the clothes!) and he fought me hard when I tried to dress him. He ran around in just a diaper for several hours and I didn't hate it. He was in such a funny mood and was cracking us up.

4. Still very much loves books!

5. Popcorn and snickerdoodles made for a yummy treat.

6. I could just eat him sometimes!

7. Millie asked me to make three braids and then combine them into one in the back. She wanted to sleep in them and see how curly her hair would be the next morning. This girl has her own ideas and takes action! Love it.

Cousin time

Jeff and Kerri are back in the States! We'd seen Kerri and the kids a couple summers ago but I hadn't seen Jeff since they left for Germany. We were excited they were stopping in Houston for a couple of weeks before heading to their new home. When we go so long between visits the kids have a hard time remembering their cousins, but when they're all together they just pick up right where they left off and have fun!

We did lots of swimming with them, at several different pools haha.

Lunch at Chuy's one Saturday. Tim's internship has him working long hours so we took advantage of his Saturdays off!

Bahama Bucks is a summer staple! Okay so we probably only go there once a year, but it's still great.

Harvey and Lyla were acting all jail-trapped in the splash pad gate.

Grandma came back from the store with some fun crafts to keep these little hands busy!

We went to the Astros game for Mormon night. The Webbs joined us and we all had a great time!

Harvey wasn't sure what to make of the whole evening. He sat so quietly on my lap the entire time!

The Astros pulled out a win after we left with two runs in the 9th inning. Too bad we missed the excitement but we had a great time anyway.

Took the kiddos to see Incredibles 2.

This one slept through most of it, thankfully! Made for a nice movie experience for everyone.

Leighton is still just the sweetest with his younger cousins.

We went to Tiny's for some delicious cookies and loved how cute and delicious that place is. I'd had their cookies before but never actually been there! Adorable. Took way more pictures than one little ice cream dish warranted, but if you've been there you understand.

Harvey went up to the door, ready for a picture, over and over again. He was cracking us up!

Seriously, so yummy. I had the "milk and cookies" which is their homemade vanilla with their chocolate chip cookie mixed in. Amazing.

We found a park nearby and were enjoying some cooler weather after lots of rain. The kids ran around a baseball field and got good and muddy.

On our last day with Jerri and crew we had a couple of plans fall through because of weather and ended up bowling. Not a bad backup! Harvey warmed up to Aunt Steph a lot this time around and it was so cute.

Come again soon, Jeff and Kerri!

Start of summer fun

We took a trip to IKEA with Grandma. Millie got her very own desk for her room! She was very excited. Well, about the desk and the giant cinnamon roll, obviously.

She was a big helper getting the stroller out the car since I couldn't do that and push the cart and Grandma had a cart of her own!

And a swim for good measure. We pretty much bring our swimsuits with us everywhere we go these days, just in case!

Max came up with a funny trick at the park.

And Harvey always scrambles from the back to the front if I don't grab him fast enough when we get in the car. Such a funny boy.

Tyler and I had a nice date to the temple and Chili's. Chips and salsa forever!

And a fun Saturday swim. Millie was super excited about that mermaid fin, but it was a cheap one and didn't last. She really wants a good one someday!

And Max is getting trickier by the day in the water.

Harvey looked so cute and funny on the way home from the pool. Love his double chin so much. He always swims his heart out and has a hard time staying awake on our way home so we're always trying to make him laugh and keep him up so he'll nap at home!

We've established quiet time for the older kids while Harvey naps. It is awesome. One day I came in to find that Max had done his writing practice and then turned quiet time into nap time. Such a cute sight.

We were so excited to learn that Mitchell and Shayna are having a baby girl! I love this picture.

Max was rubbing it in that he was right about it being a girl and Millie was sad she was wrong, but super excited for a girl cousin on the Juergens side!

We went to the park one morning and there had been a really bad wind storm the night before. There were tree branches all over the park. Millie parked her bike and right away started clearing them and putting them by the garbage can. Love that girl. I stopped her quick when I saw that all the thick branches had lots of termites in them, but I was thankful for that reaction to help.

You know summer is going well when you look back and find 3 sleeping kiddos!
