Memorial Day weekend

We got to have Garrett and McKenna in town for Memorial Day weekend! They had been on a cruise from Galveston so we enjoyed them in Houston for a couple days before they went home. We took the kids to the zoo on Friday (minus Millie still at school) and had lots of fun. We even got to ride the train! Thanks to Grammy and Gigi for a great day. These boys were so excited to see all the animals.

Usually the tiger is too far away to see so we felt super lucky to get there during a "keeper talk" where we got to see him up close! So beautiful and so big.

Harvey's coy half-smile is one of my favorite things ever.

And Max just insisted that McKenna be the one to do everything with him that weekend.

Other than the zoo we did lots of playing and snuggling, eating yummy food, and of course swimming!

A riveting game of toothpick!

A Sunday walk. Not our smartest choice of activities. It's just way too hot!

Memorial Day somehow always includes a bike ride. Never been super intentional about it but it always just happens! Love it.

We went to the store on Monday for a few things for dinner. The kids asked to look through the toy section and, bless their little hearts, wrote down or took pictures of what they had their eyes on and how much it would cost. They're hoping to earn money this summer and make those dreams come true!

Tyler also looked through an old bin of hats and Harvey thought they were pretty cool.

Grandma and Grandpa came over for an afternoon swim and then dinner on Monday. I left my phone behind and therefore don't have any pictures but we had a great time! Harvey learned that it's fun to jump off the side into the pool, which totally turned around his attitude about swimming. Thank goodness! We also set up our summer fun purchase - a blow up dinosaur slide! The kids are having fun with it and I love that it's right in our backyard.
