Andersen family reunion

 We got lucky this year and had two family reunions right here in Houston! Almost all of the Andersen crew was here for a few days in August and we packed as much in as we could, starting with a little family Primary program.

A visit to the Blue Bell factory. Definitely not as cool as it used to be when there was actually a tour and something to see there, but oh well! The ice cream was still wonderful, of course.

I tried to get a cute pic of Hazel in her Blue Bell hat, but she just wasn’t having it.

We went to the pool in Bridgeland once or twice which was great since it was possibly the hottest week in history!

Harvey fell and hit his face on a ladder while playing at the park. 

We rented canoes and paddle boats on a lake and roasted ourselves for a little while.

I went back once or twice to play games with the other adults after putting kids down for bed.

We made our way out to the beach one day and these girls had way too much fun burying Andrew.

We were sure grateful to those who made the trek out here, it was so fun to be together.

Beach Day - May 22

 I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves here - we went to the beach with Heidi and James and had a blast! The pics I have are mostly of Hazel because the others were running around having a great time away from the camera. Hazel requires the full attention of at least one of us at all times! Good thing she’s cute. It was a great day.

Spring Breaking

The kids made a list of things they wanted to do over spring break. The first day was a little more low key. We made a cake (they'd seen a recipe on YouTube and wanted to try), went to the library, and the dollar store.

Not exactly a unicorn cake, but they didn't mind. It was supposed to be multi-colored on the inside but starting with a yellow cake mix wasn't my best decision!

The kids love sitting by Harvey during meals. This means I don't sit by him to feed him, and things get a little messy. Not to mention every dish is crowded there at the end of the table and the rest is empty!

I was bad at taking pictures this day, but we went park-hopping with Gigi, Heidi, and Wes! We enjoyed the boardwalk for a while and Gigi took the big kids to the park by her house while Harvey and Wes napped.

Wednesday we met the Webbs and Grandma at the beach! The Webbs came from San Antonio for the rest of the week. 

Harvey really found his happy place here. The water was freezing but Harvey loved going in as far as I would let him over and over. He eventually fell on his hands and knees and soaked his pants pretty well. Didn't phase him at all.

I finally took the pants off in case they were keeping the cold in and he roamed free for a while. Little cutie.

Millie and Eva found a bunch of seashells over by these rocks, which was very exciting since we've never found seashells at this beach before.

Had to recreate a picture we took at the beach exactly two years ago on that day (3/14). I was pregnant with Harvey but didn't know it yet. A lot can happen in two years. It was a fun beach day!
