Fall Festival

Toward the end of October we got to go with Poppy and Gigi to the fall festival of a company Poppy works with. It was at a golf course this year and it was beautiful! We were happy that Uncle Garrett was there too, visiting from Dallas for the weekend. Tyler was working that day and the kids loved having an uncle around to play with them.

There was lots of fun stuff to do, including a scavenger hunt that got us exploring a bit, a bouncy slide, face painting, balloon animals, a piñata, etc.

Harvey was happy to watch the big kids on the slide with an unlimited supply of popcorn.

They also had a lake with a little beachfront area. It was so relaxing to just sit and watch the kids play in the sand. It sure didn't hurt that it was a super beautiful day!

He was hesitant to touch the sand at first, but eventually warmed up to it and then got crazy and of course ended up getting himself all wet in the lake.

The last event of the day was a show by Dennis the Strongman. I'd met Dennis a few times before but never actually seen his show - it was amazing! The kids were very impressed and still talk about it.

He gave them the horseshoes he bent with his hands. Pretty amazing souvenir!

Thanks Poppy for having us along! It was a great day.

October little things

I don't think I'm going to attempt to put these in chronological order. Too much work and I've got to catch up!

Having another reader in the house is very handy and super sweet.

Harvey wasn't technically old enough to hang out in "the maze" at the gym kids center but some of the nice employees liked Harvey and let him sneak in sometimes. Always made his day.

Millie got pink eye and got to stay home from school one day. Thank goodness for fast-working eye drops so that was all she had to miss!

Millie asked one morning if she could put the silverware away. Uh, yeah! How about every day?? 

Harvey went through a phase of loving our I Spy Christmas book. 

Still loves other people's shoes. I'm pretty sure I have a picture of Millie wearing these same boots at about this age. 

Max earned some money to buy a Transformer and he was so pleased! He got Grimmlock and it was so cute to see him so happy and proud of himself.

More sweet reading moments.

Keeping the boys entertained during Millie's gymnastics class is not for the faint of heart. This particular night involved about a thousand games of Tic Tac Toe and trying to be okay with Harvey constantly wanting to lay on the floor.

We used our dinosaur slide one last time and then put him away until next summer.

Max loves collecting acorns! Sometimes he likes to find the "hats."

The zip line park used to be a good workout for me but luckily they've found they like running each other back to the starting spot.

I sometimes call this cute boy King Harvey so this choice of headwear was fitting.

The dancing room lives up to its name!

Tyler was so good to practice the kids' lines with them before the Primary Program. They both delivered their parts beautifully! 

One of these is not like the others. But it kinda cracks me up!

It was fun taking these cuties with me to vote. I pass our early polling place frequently so I would check on it every time we passed. It was so crowded! We finally found a day/time when it wasn't jammed and of course Harvey was without shoes. Oh well, I'm pretty sure my vote still counted!

Donuts with dudes and tennis lessons

Max had some exciting stuff in October. He invited Harvey to his preschool for "donuts with dudes" and I got to tag along as Harvey's chaperone haha. Max was very excited to show us the "alphabots" he plays with at school every day.

Then it was time for donuts! Harvey was obviously thrilled haha.

The other exciting thing was that Max started an 8-week session of tennis lessons at the gym! It was great and I'm secretly hoping this is the start of a life-long sport for Max. He's a natural!

And he had some pretty cute spectators.

Baby #4

Juergens baby #4 is joining the crew at the end of May! The kids were so excited when we told them and they were just SO sure it's a girl.

We're all jumping for joy over here!!

General Conference Weekend, Oct. 2018 edition

Our weekend fun began Friday night with The (2nd Annual) Haunting Games. It got a little more intense this year, with one of our teammates having to get in a pool to find a clue! But it was a really fun night. And we totally would have won, were it not for factors outside of our control. Go Purple People Eaters.

Harvey was up bright and early, ready to listen to Conference as long as he had some juice. That boy is a camel.

We watched the Saturday sessions with Gigi and Poppy and it was so nice and relaxing. Lots of wonderful things announced and talks given.

I went to the Stake Center for the Women's Session that evening. Pretty cool to have that be a part of conference weekend! Also pretty cool that I got to be there with my mother-in-law, who I'm now realizing was also with her mother-in-law haha.

We watched the Sunday sessions at Monka and Ampa's house, with Tim and Lauren and the Webb crew.

Harvey was highly entertained by the cars, as always.

It is a wonderful time to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I'm so grateful for our living prophet and that he speaks to the church for the Lord. There are some amazing changes going on and it's all so exciting!

First day of preschool

Max started preschool at the beginning of October! He is going to one of the high schools near us. He has a high schooler as a "bonding buddy" and he really likes it there! He goes 8:30-12:30 on T/W/Th.   Max was nervous but excited about his first day.

One perk of having preschool start in October was that all the back to school stuff was way on sale by then, so we scored this awesome Star Wars backpack for $8! 

They do a car line so Max hopped out of the car and went right in with one of the high school students! He was awesome.

They sent me this a bit later, I thought it was so cute.

Poor Harvey didn't quite know what to do without Max there. He was pretty sad. It also took a week or two to get used to going to the gym without Max.

A big thumbs up after the first day! He was excited to go back the next day too which I took as a good sign.
