Spring Breaking pt 2

Houston Arboretum with Grandma, Lauren, and the Webb kids. The kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt inside the arboretum and the adults enjoyed that it was free and not crowded. Pretty much a spring break miracle. It was a beautiful morning and we found some surprise bluebonnets as we were leaving! First ones we'd seen this year.

There were phones all throughout the exhibit that would tell you information about the animals in that area when you picked them up. Max loved them!

This pond was gorgeous!

Spring break isn't all fun and games.

Bluebonnets! We may or may not have sat in a median to get these pictures. Can't help where the beautiful flowers grow!

That afternoon we went to Levy Park. It was pretty much the coolest park I've ever seen! The kids had a blast and have been begging to go back ever since.

That night Tyler and I got to go to a Rockets' game together! He was given tickets at work and they were really good seats. We went to eat at Mia's beforehand, which was delicious. Another place we'll definitely visit again.

Unfortunately, Harvey wasn't super happy that we left him. He refused to sleep and just lay in Grandma's arms (that is, after he cried for over an hour). Gotta work on that.

Spring Breaking

The kids made a list of things they wanted to do over spring break. The first day was a little more low key. We made a cake (they'd seen a recipe on YouTube and wanted to try), went to the library, and the dollar store.

Not exactly a unicorn cake, but they didn't mind. It was supposed to be multi-colored on the inside but starting with a yellow cake mix wasn't my best decision!

The kids love sitting by Harvey during meals. This means I don't sit by him to feed him, and things get a little messy. Not to mention every dish is crowded there at the end of the table and the rest is empty!

This is what bathtubs are for, Mom!

I was bad at taking pictures this day, but we went park-hopping with Gigi, Heidi, and Wes! We enjoyed the boardwalk for a while and Gigi took the big kids to the park by her house while Harvey and Wes napped.

Wednesday we met the Webbs and Grandma at the beach! The Webbs came from San Antonio for the rest of the week.

Harvey really found his happy place here. The water was freezing but Harvey loved going in as far as I would let him over and over. He eventually fell on his hands and knees and soaked his pants pretty well. Didn't phase him at all.

I finally took the pants off in case they were keeping the cold in and he roamed free for a while. Little cutie.

Millie and Eva found a bunch of seashells over by these rocks, which was very exciting since we've never found seashells at this beach before.

Had to recreate a picture we took at the beach exactly two years ago on that day (3/14). I was pregnant with Harvey but didn't know it yet. A lot can happen in two years. It was a fun beach day!

16 on 10: March 2018

1. Harvey was here! He loves shoes and he loves the dishwasher, so this was no surprise.

2-15. Zoo day with Heidi, James, and Wes! I'm not going to go to the trouble of changing the order of these pics. Suffice it to say we had a great time! It was a little hotter than we thought it'd be but the kids were troopers and had lots more energy than their mom.

Maybe my favorite picture of Harvey ever.

Millie was such a little mama to Wes. She loved attempting to hold him and holding his hand.

The big kids wanted a picture with every animal statue they had, which was a lot!

I love that she can read.

Of course, the komodo dragon. His favorite zoo animal for sure.

16. Everyone napped on the way home so we had to go out again to wear them out before bedtime. We went to Chik-Fil-A and Tyler met us there, then we played at the boardwalk. It was crowded but so fun!

In the wildflowers

My friend Beth has done a free picture for kids in the wildflowers for the last couple of years. We were so excited to make it on the list this year! The kids loved running through the wildflowers.

Practice pictures.

They did great! Well, the older two for sure. Harvey just has a hard time sometimes haha. I promised them ice cream for good behavior afterwards. Millie noticed the sunset on the way and asked that I take a picture because she wanted to remember it.

Sonic for the win!

Other moments I want to remember lately:

Harvey loves the little play lawn mower. He also loves escaping from me/our yard. He started off down the sidewalk pushing the lawn mower, doing this adorable marching band walk he does when he knows he's being naughty and is just waiting to be caught.

I showed the big kids The Little Rascals and they thought it was so funny. Millie also said the kissing between Alfalfa and Darla was gross, which was the perfect reaction to me.

Have to put in the beautiful pictures Beth took. I love them so much!

This last picture depicts their personalities so well. Harvey upset that he's not with me, Millie being sweet and trying to help, and Max being slightly silly but so cute. I sure love these kiddos.
