Millie Millie Millie

So, we are kind of obsessed with Millie these days. Not that it hasn't always been this way-- it has-- but she has just turned up the cuteness factor lately!! She is growing up so quickly and is at such a fun age. There are about a hundred times a day where I say to myself or Tyler says to me, "She is so dang cute!!" Millie surprises us with a new word or phrase all the time! She is still super routine-oriented, but luckily when I change the plans it's easy to get her on board. She has SO much energy, which I totally envy and wish I could bottle some for me! We are still working on her attachment to me. On Sunday she went to nursery by herself for a whole 10-15 minutes without crying!! But then singing time ended and the tears started. Oh well. Millie LOVES music. We listen to Primary songs in the car and she is obsessed, even singing along in her own way. She calls us Mommy and Daddy now, instead of Mama and Dada. It is both sad and awesome.

Anyway, enough words. Here is an explosion of Millie pictures.

She Is even adorable while naughty. It's problematic.

She taught Jared her signature dance move!

General Conference weekend, Oct. 2013 edition

Our weekend was full of family, food, and good times. We went to Lufkin to see my family! On the drive up on Friday night, Millie read books and entertained us with her singing and jabbering. Pretty adorable.

Saturday was a busy day! We ate Texas-shaped waffles for breakfast, played outside on the swingset, and watched the morning session in our pajamas. After lunch we went to Sarah's school to see her in the play "Rumors." She was awesome!! Interesting plot, but Sarah was great and it was so fun to see her in her element. We came home for a bit before the men went off to the priesthood session, and us girls went back to the school for Sarah's last play! Millie was so good both times, bribed with sugar and her binky of course. Once we were all together again we enjoyed pizza and Bananagrams and went to bed way too late.

Sunday we woke up to the most wonderful weather! After breakfast we couldn't help but go outside. Grandpa pushed Millie on the swing and we explored their big yard a bit more before watching the morning session. Mom made yummy cinnamon rolls and Millie played with the doll house. Between sessions we had ham and augratin potatoes, which I had been craving really badly! We also played more bananagrams on the porch. The weather was seriously beautiful!! During the afternoon session Millie got to play up in the grandkids' loft, with Daddy sitting nearby to keep her from going down the stairs. After conference was over, we had a little fire and roasted marshmallows! Millie was fascinated, and kept trying to blow the fire out. We had to leave quickly after that to take advantage of the leftover daylight to drive home.

It was a perfect weekend! On the way home, Tyler and I talked about all the things we heard and felt over the weekend, and about how blessed we are to have a wonderful family. Life is so good and it's great to have quiet moments to remember that.

And now, the pictures! You knew they were coming, right??

She was so well-behaved on the drive up!

Millie loved Monka and Ampa's "park"

Random catching up

I am blogging from my phone, because our computer is probably dead! I need some geeks to help us out. Anyway, please excuse the format, or lack thereof, in the following.

Pictures explained:
1. Millie "dancing" which to her just means running in circles and an occasional arabesque (no idea how to spell that). She is one funny girl.

2. Cleaning out our 72-hr kits, as I want to do every time General Conference comes around in the future. Since Millie is almost 2, it was high time she got a kit as well!! She enjoyed watching me make a big mess and playing with the flashlights and ponchos.
3. Sometimes I send Tyler pictures of what we're having for dinner, since these days he is working late and they order dinner for the office. Not sure if comparing our meals makes him jealous or relieved that he's not home! This particular evening it was twice baked potatoes. Craving lots of breads and potatoes lately.
4. Millie's dancing getup one day. I really need to  get on the ball and make her some dressups to dance and play in!
5. A poor picture of the beginnings of a belly.
6. What my nightstand looks like lately- I've been fighting a wicked cold since LAST Saturday. That on top of continuing nausea just makes me feel all-around poopy, but I'm definitely on the up and up on both fronts.
7. Sharon and I painted these cute guys last week. The whole thing is not finished yet, but I was so pleased with their cuteness that I couldn't resist taking a picture. When it's done I'll also add the link to the tutorial.
So, those are random snippets of stuff lately.
