Max's first swim

I'm not even sure if I should really count this as his first swim- he was in the water for about two minutes and kind of cried the whole time! We'll try again soon- maybe he was just tired or something. But he sure looks cute in his little suit and rash guard! I have no doubt Millie will teach him to be a waterbug too, someday.

It was pretty comical. Poor boy.

In other swimming news, Millie is back to herself in the water! She'll jump off the diving board and do everything else she used to do. This includes jumping in while I'm off finding her floaties! Thanks to Uncle James for saving her. That girl is crazy.

Max's Blessing

We had planned to have Max's blessing on July 6th but found out a week before that my dad had to go to Utah that weekend, so we quickly made arrangements to have it on June 29th instead! And when I say quickly, I mean calling everyone at 10pm on Saturday and telling them to come to our house the next day. Luckily Garrett, Mitchell, and McKenna had flown in that night. We were so appreciative of everyone being so flexible. I was a little sad at first that it would be so different than Millie's blessing not having it at church, but it turned out to be a really great evening. It was sweet and intimate and the Spirit was so strong in our home. We love Max and are so grateful to have family close by to celebrate him with us.

Max's outfit is called "Tyler" so I had to get it! I was so worried I wouldn't be able to find one big enough, but the internet saved the day. I found this cute romper with a bow tie online in size 6-12 months and it fit him perfectly.

Our bishop (first on the right) was sweet to come also.

4 generations of Juergens men!

Millie had about had it, and I had about had it with her! She was feeling weird with everyone at our house, I guess. She requested to be held the whole night.

We loved meeting McKenna and seeing the boys! Garrett and McKenna are so cute together.

I'll have to take some more pictures of just Max in his outfit. He looked pretty darn handsome!

We had a fun night with our family. It was so low stress compared to Millie's blessing day. Mom made peanut butter bars and we gobbled them up! I didn't have time to stress about our house being spotless or preparing a big meal or what I looked like or what I was going to wear. But it turned out just dandy! I need to remember this when I start stressing out over unimportant things. Focus on what matters and let go of the rest.

Sick week little things

Tyler has had the last two weeks off of work! We've so enjoyed our time as a family. We tried to plan out fun things to do during these two weeks, but our plans were foiled a little bit! I started to feel sick on Sunday night (just before his vacation time started) and was out for a couple of days. Just a bad cold. Wednesday I finally started to feel like I could function again, and that same day Tyler started to feel sick too! So then he was out for a few days. We basically spent that whole first week being sick. I honestly had a really hard time not being mad. I felt (still kinda feel) like we were robbed of our fun time! But I suppose if we were going to get sick it's good it happened when Tyler was home already and able to help with the kids. Anyway, so here are some random pictures from that week:

Lining up all her dolls. And Max!

Millie is seriously in love with these magic clip toys. I think they are so cute.

The best way to ride shopping cart.

Hiding in the clothing racks was my favorite thing to do at stores growing up.

My method of keeping germs away from Max: a dish towel pinned around my face. It was so hot and annoying, but he didn't get sick!

The aftermath of French braids

Painting in her swimsuit

Finally starting to feel better, we went to Ikea on Saturday. It was a total failure of a shopping trip, and the things I was looking for aren't available online! Bummer.

Took a picture to remember the funny thing Millie said. We were driving and passed a Wendy's. Millie said, "Hey Daddy, want some fries? And do you want an ice cream cone for me?" It was so funny! She's been in a phase of offering things to us ever since. "Hey Mommy, want to pop some popcorn and watch a oovie [movie]? It would be so fun!" That girl thinks she has worked out an awesome new way to get what she wants.

Living room campout

Tyler wanted to take Millie camping, but it's just so miserably hot these days! So they set up the tent in the living room and slept there for a night. They watched Frozen together and we didn't start the movie until probably 8, and she stayed awake! Tyler, however, fell asleep before she did. Pretty funny.

A night at the Astros

We had a fun night at the Astros game! It was great to have Mom, Dad, Sarah, Charlotte, Ben, and their kids all with us. It's pretty awesome to have them living close by. The Astros lost, but to be honest, I don't think I even watched more than a minute of the game! It was just fun to talk!

Elf, obviously.

Max was obviously inspired and is going to be a professional baseball player.

Millie was sure happy with cotton candy and popcorn. Thanks Monka!
