Durango, Day 3

Coal Bank Pass. Millie insisted on climbing up but Max couldn't so Lindsay helped her.

We played and had a picnic lunch at a cute park in Silverton. The whole town was adorable!

Downtown Silverton.

Rocky Mountain Funnel Cake Factory!

We stopped at a waterfall on the side of the road and let the kids play for a minute.

Andrew's Lake. I stayed in the car with Max and Briggs, who were sleeping.

I also took a hair selfie because I was bored.

Since it was sunny it was (barely) warm enough for a swim. The kids also loved the hot tub.

It was fun to people-watch at the pool. We could see mountain bikers coming down the slopes, people zip-lining overhead, and people on the alpine slide. So many fun things to do!

Durango, Day 2

Making a mess at the condo

Seriously, every view was amazing. Pictures are just so lame in comparison.

We drove up in the mountains a bit further and found this pretty creek.

The water was bone-chilling cold, but that did not stop everyone from dipping our feet in!

Millie really wanted to climb a mountain. We found a hill with beautiful flowers that did just fine!

Max refused to leave my side for most of the trip.

Sweet Bryn helping Millie down the hill.

Lunch at James Ranch. I ate an overpriced, delicious burger while the kids roamed and played with goats and refused to eat anything.

Pinkerton Hot Springs.

Millie said, "Colorado had the best beds, Mom!" She loved the bunk beds at the condo so much.

The kids spent so much time watching people from the balcony.

I laid down to stretch my back and Max thought he would join me. Awkward!

The condo building had a library you could borrow books from, and we found a Book of Mormon!

Books, ice cream, and sisters. Pretty much a perfect evening.

Mom took the older grandkids for a night swim and then they had graham crackers and milk before bed. Coolest grandma!

Durango, Day 1

Steph's in-laws have a beautiful in Durango and they were so nice to let us stay there for a few days! The whole area is breathtakingly beautiful and we had so much fun.

The kids played in a little rocky river area while we waited for everyone to be ready for the day.

It's a terrible picture but I love how sweet Madi is to Millie!

Picnic lunch at Harmony Park.

Laura joined the party!

We came back to the condo after lunch and attempted to swim. My kids and I did NOT enjoy it because we are Texas wimps - the water was cold and it wasn't 90+ degrees outside!

Movie time!

Road trip, Day 2

After staying at Steph's house on Monday night, we made our way to Durango, CO on Tuesday. We switched up the car/kid arrangements and Max and I went with Lindsay and Brigham. Millie and the girl cousins went with Grandma and the boys were with Steph. I think Lindsay and I got the best deal!

10 on 10: August 2015

Alternate title: Road trip, Day 1. Mom, Sarah, Lindsay and her kids, and I with my kids left Houston to head to Steph's house in Alamogordo, NM! We might be crazy!

Ready for a day in the car

Those magic markers are a road trip lifesaver!

Crazy for Buccee's!

We made one stop that wasn't for food, fuel, or bathroom breaks

Rejoicing that we are finally out of Texas. Hello New Mexico!

"And as you travel along those ribbons of grey..."

That tennis ball was also a lifesaver
