Sunday afternoon

Family snuggles

And a walk around the neighborhood which turned into a walk around our block. We were thinking it would be nice, but it really is just too hot still!

More random pictures

We're still hanging out at the splash pad, even though the pool is closed.

Pooped out after a morning at the splash pad.

Max has decided he is so over the high chair. I got him a booster seat but that was not received well. Chair it is! He looks so grown up sitting there. At first I was thinking how young he is to be sitting at the table, but I think it was at about this age that Millie refused the high chair too.

Zoning out at the outlet mall.

Whenever I sit down, these two are never far away!

I made them model the new clothes I got for them, which apparently is a really mean thing to do.

Hiding from me. She does this lately when she is mad at me or she's been punished.

We spend pretty much every late afternoon playing in the back yard. It's nice and shady, and these days it's only about 90 degrees! Which is a big difference from 98.

Little things

Millie got to have a daddy-daughter date! Her favorite thing ever.

Sneaking Gigi's famous rolls. Can't even blame him.

Extra loves from Max.

Millie (and her horse) watching a worm make its way to the grass.

Balls aren't just for throwing!

Sarah got her mission call! Above was before, below is after. She's going to the Nevada, Reno mission in January. So excited for her!!

First day of preschool

Millie's first day of preschool was Sept. 1. She goes to Miss Sharon, which is perfect. It's 4 houses away and there are lots of friends from church in her class! Millie was so excited to start.

Muffins and a smoothie for breakfast. Couldn't stop smiling.

Max really wanted to be in a picture too. I'm glad I said yes!

Frozen backpack, of course.

Her face when I told her it wasn't quite time to go yet.

After preschool, waiting patiently behind (right on) the line.

Millie loves preschool and asks every day if she can go! She goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-12:30. She is learning lots and having so much fun!

Millie's first haircut

We talked about cutting her hair for a while. After all the chlorine this summer it was the perfect time!

So excited!

Millie looks so old to me now! I'm definitely not a great barber or anything but it's hard to mess this girl up. She's all ready for preschool now!

More wedding partying

Tim and Lauren came to Houston for a second wedding reception! It was fun to see them after their honeymoon. Millie was so excited to wear her "wedding dress" again.

Her shorter hair will actually hold curl for a couple hours. Cutest thing ever.

They had a photo booth with props at the reception. Millie dragged anyone who would come into it with her! She ended the night with 5 different photo booth strips.

I also have to note how Millie was SO excited to dance at the party. It was a little bit sad that she didn't have her cousins to dance with this time, but it didn't stop her from dancing the night away. We weren't planning to stay the whole time but we were some of the last to leave! Max almost fell asleep in my arms and said no every time I asked him if he wanted to dance. They are two very different kiddos and I love it.

They did a bubble send off this time, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed.

On our way home Tyler and I talked about how fun it is to see our families with our kids. Especially at times like this where they're both there - our kids are really lucky to have so many people who love them and to have so many of them live close by!

Back to normal/Tyler in Canada

It took us a few days to recover from the trip. The kids were pretty cranky for a few days so we laid low. Below: Millie hid from me for a solid few hours!

Max continued to be obsessed with the lacrosse stick and got blisters all over his hands. Not a great picture but you can still see some.

A new HEB opened down the road from us and had insanely cheap gas plus a few dollars off a car wash! Millie liked it and really liked that I let her come in the front seat for it.

Off to preschool preassessment!

The pool closed when school started but luckily the splash pad is still open! Also, Millie's swimsuit has had enough.

We swam at Gigi and Poppy's house on Friday and Heidi and James came!

Meanwhile, in Canada...

Tyler went to the huge mall in Edmonton. There's a water park inside! Crazy.

They went to a restaurant with paper on the table. Tyler drew this eagle! I was impressed!

And then he came home! We were so happy to be all together again after spending most of August apart. We went to our ward pool party that Friday night and had a fun time.
