More outside fun

Seriously. The weather here in H-town has been killing it lately!

Millie asked to take some silly pictures while we were looking at clouds.

There were hardly any clouds, so it was a good thing we found something else to do.

Max loves to push around the shopping cart.

When it's not her turn on the trampoline (Millie can't resist bouncing when she's on with Max), Millie displays patience by walking around the edge and asking, "You ready to get off, Max?"

We've been going on tons of bike rides lately - good exercise for me and the kids love it!

We were outside with a neighbor kid came riding up on his bike. Millie insisted that I get hers so she could ride with him. Then as he speeds off, she says "My bike is too slow!" Blame the indian, not the arrow, sweetie.

"Glass tea party"

Way back in July, Grammy gave Millie a beautiful china tea set. Beautiful, but breakable! It has sat at the top of her closet since then. Every once in a while she'd ask to play with it but I was always able to distract her. The other day she was persistent and Max was napping, so we got it down! We had a fancy party, complete with water and cookies. I taught her how to pour from the teapot and attempted to teach her how to put her little pinky up... didn't work.

She got to have a glass tea party with Daddy on Sunday too. Lucky girl!

Little things

His new smile.

I don't even remember why I took this, besides that she is just cute!

I don't have a lot of luck when it comes to chocolate chip cookies... they usually turn out like pancakes (or crepes haha) or way too puffy. But since these were for FHE, the cookie gods smiled on us and they were perfect. Which is picture-worthy.

The trampoline=our daily happy place.

Millie likes to come feed her baby when I feed Max. Her copying me now is way less awkward than when I used to nurse him!

Making Valentines. She had so much fun with the first one that she wanted to make one for basically everyone she knows!

Hey there, February

It's so crazy that January is already over! February is lookin' good.

Above is the before, below is the after. She calls the wavy mane her "Merida hair." Pretty accurate.

Still on an organizing kick. This cleared out a drawer nicely.

Millie got stuck in the cart with an awful lot of groceries. She said, "So... Mom, how are you going to get me out of here?"

I need to invest in some new sippy cups. Max loves to let them leak all over the tray and then mix in whatever crumbs are left! He's going to be that kid making concoctions with leftovers at lunch with his friends at school.

I made some pumpkin bread and told Millie I would cut it for her once it was cooled down enough. Millie runs into the bathroom as I'm bathing Max and shows me her mouth, full of bread! I came out and found she had just dug into a mini-loaf. Clearly, she wanted it back.

We subscribed to the Friend and Millie loves it!

I have been attempting to work out lately. Because I haven't been waking up early enough to do it before the kids get up (which would be crazy - they're waking up at 6ish on the regular these days), I get to do it when they're up. One morning I was lying on the floor doing an ab workout and Max crawled on top of me and started slapping my face! His personal training style is pretty intense.

This is Millie's prized possession right now. Gigi's friend Sarah gave it to her and she loooves it. Also of note, right before this pic was taken she said, "Mom, I'm old." Ha!

A little Valentine's Day accessorizing.

All in a Friday's work

Fridays are my favorite lately.

Little mister finally grew into his first pair of Nikes.

Playgroup at our house = 4 twirling princesses instead of 1!

I have a strange talent for picking the loudest shopping carts every time I go to the store. I expect the car ones to be loud, but this one was extreme. It sounded like a gunshot every time the back wheels made a full circle! So obnoxious.

Millie was so excited to be my little plumber's assistant. I replaced the drain plug in Tyler's bathroom sink and unclogged mine! Thanks YouTube!

We're still phasing out naps. It is going... well?

Tyler and I have tried to kick it up a few notches in our FHEs lately. We hold it on Friday evenings right now because that's one of two nights Tyler is guaranteed to get off of work early, but it happens! It honestly has become the highlight of our week! Millie gets so excited about it too. I feel like that's a big part of why this busy season has gone as well as it has so far. When you make an effort to do the important things, Heavenly Father will make sure the rest works out too.

Family days

We spent a couple of nights at my parent's house last week to be closer to Tyler. He got to see the kids in the morning and the commute was much much shorter! Win win! Super helpful on these super long days he's been pulling.

But before we went there, we met Gigi, Grammy, and Heidi at the mall for lunch and playing! Millie insisted on sporting her new Anna dress, and she insisted on Max sporting his Superman shirt.

I had two kids in full costume and then I was just all boring in normal clothes. Snore.

Love his little arm around me!

Millie was obsessed with Monka's little bench. The weather was beautiful so we spent tons of time outside. We would drag that little bench all over the courtyard and watch the squirrels and "look at the garden flowers" as Millie says.

He spills Comet all over the he's the one crying??

Other fun at Monka's house not pictured: Hanging out with Daddy in the morning, helping Monka house-hunt, watching Ampa watch Max eat (seriously!), driving around Katy, watching a lot of HGTV when the kids were in bed, and me getting to go to Trader Joe's alllll by myself. By the way, their orange chicken and fried rice is amazing!
